Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs purple sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free option
  • 2 tbsp honey adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Place the cubed purple sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add butter, milk, honey, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Mash until smooth and creamy using a potato masher or hand mixer.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or seasoning if needed.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra creaminess, substitute heavy cream for milk. If you prefer a more savory version, omit the honey and vanilla and add garlic and herbs instead.
